Austrian culture and history
In this course, the Austrian history was explained to Erasmus students. This history contained information about the 19th, 20th and 21st century. In addition to this, three excursions to big cities were organized. This included, Kufstein, Innsbruck and Salzburg. This course was given five times, of which three excursions, and two informative classes. At the end of the course an exam was given.
I really enjoyed this course, as it was giving us insight information in the country I am living in for the entire semester. The excursion were very interesting, as you get to places you normally would not visit. During this course I learned the history behind several Austrian emblems, names and cultural information.
Grade: 95% - 1

Brand management
The aim of this course was to provide the student with knowledge about brand management and the role of managing brands on a modern market. Also, giving students information on how to conceptualize a brand and understanding the different fields of brand management. This course was given five times, duration of classes was five hours. The course ended with a case study based exam.
In my opinion, this course was very interesting. The focus was on showing us how a brand was build up, and showed a different side of business which I had not experienced before. I gained some new knowledge which will help me in my future career.
Grade: 90% - 1

Business of event management
This course focused on understanding the fundamentals and impacts of sports, cultural, business and society events. Also, to design various strategies for destinations. This course was given three times, and each class took 2.5 hours. In the end an open exam was given.
This course was really interesting, as I will do my internship in event management. At the Hanze we have not focused on event management, so I am really glad I got some knowledge about how to organize events and the important aspects. In addition, the teacher was very competent, as she was a professional in the field of event management.
Grade: 92% - 1

Consumer behavior
In this course, insight was given into consumer behavior. Various concepts were handled, such as perception, motivation, values, involvement, attitudes, and decision making. This course was given four times, and the duration was each time five hours. In the last course, we had to present one topic and write a report.
I really enjoyed this course, as it showed how consumers make their decision and how marketers can influence these decisions. This course cooperated with the marketing course at the Hanze, but it was great to focus mainly on the consumer and not all marketing aspects.
Grade: 93% - 1

Cross Cultural Management
During this course, the students will understand the fundamentals of cultural differences, have a general awareness of the existence of various international business standards and apply the concept of cultural awareness. This course was given six times, each time took five hours. In the last class every student had to present, and hand in a paper. In addition, each class multiple team assignments had to be completed.
This course was interesting, as it took place in an international setting. Many different students from various countries were involved. The course built on the intercultural competence course at the Hanze in year two, but this time more nationalities were involved, thus more cultural differences were addressed.
Grade: 96% - 1

Destination management
This course is for the regular FH students, so there were not many international students in this course. The aim was to provide information about developments and problems in tourism destinations and come up with solutions. The course was given in two days, both lectures took seven hours. The final assignment was a group report about a country of your choice regarding destination management.
I enjoyed this course as it expanded the knowledge I learned in the course Business of Event management. This time more focus was on the tourism and destination management, which I can use for my internship next semester.
Grade: not known yet

Finance & Control
In this course, various subjects were covered, such as financial budgets, cash flow statements, key performance indicators and cost accounting. The main aim of this course was to analyze and interpret managerial accounting reports that provide both objective measures of past operations and subjective estimates about future decisions. It focused not only on the numbers, but also on how to evaluate the information from any company.
This course was interesting, however it was mostly the same as all the financial management courses taught at the Hanze. But it is important to keep this knowledge accurate. The professor brought many real-life cases and examples to class, which made it even more interesting.
Grade: 98% - 1

German Language (Intermediate level)
This course aimed at practicing and expanding the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of the German language. Also, the focus was on improving grammar skills. This course was given throughout the semester, each class took 1.5 hours. The grade was determined by various small tests in each class and a presentation in German.
This course was not that difficult, since I already have some experience in German. However, it was great to refresh all the knowledge from the German language. In addition, I could put my German into practice in a German speaking country.
Grade: 95% - 1

Introduction to Energy Business
This course focused on basic information, regulation and developments in the energy sector. The teacher gave an overview of the most important terms and principles of the European energy industry, such as unbundling, grid usage, trade, distribution, renewable energy and smart technologies. This course involved five courses of 2.5 hours, and ended with an written exam.
I never had any course regarding this topic and it was very interesting to gain some knowledge in this field. The teacher was well-competent as it was a professional in the field of Energy Business.
Grade: 100% - 1

Organizational Behavior
In this course the focus was towards organizational behavior, it expanded the information of the course consumer behavior. In this course, the learning outcomes included: to discuss various components in an organizational context, aspects related to individual behavior in an organizational context and relate organizational processes that influence organizational behavior. The course was given five times in one week, each class took 2.5 hours. The final assessment was by a written report.
This course was the least interesting of all my courses. It was a very general course, which was given in one week. This time span is in my opinion too short, as it is explained shortly. Overall, this course gave me some more knowledge on how to deal with teams in a company.
Grade: 78% - 1

Trends in International Marketing
This course focused on the basics of marketing and the main focus on trends. Real-world examples were used and analyzed in class. The following subjects were covered guerilla marketing, neuromarketing, and social media. This course took place five times, each time four hours.
