This past week I only had 2 courses spread out over 3 days. I had German language and a new course, Brand Management. For the course German I will be in the intermediate group, so I hope this level suits me. The days I was free I explored Kufstein with other exchange students from the FH Kufstein and I met many more new people. On Monday afternoon we walked up a mountain, from where we had a great over Kufstein. On Tuesday, October 9th I went with 2 other Dutch girls on a hike to the “Thiersee”, which is a lake nearby and takes about 20 minutes by car. Multiple exchange students told us it was a nice place and worth a visit and it would be doable to walk. So, we decided to leave around 10 AM for a walk to the “Thiersee”. Unfortunately the road was not clearly indicated and we had to walk on the side of a road where cars drove by with 80km/h. We even called the Kufstein tourism office to ask if it was the right road. They told us we could walk there, however near the end the road stopped and we had to go through the forest. Eventually we had no idea where we were and how to walk, so we were a bit lost. Luckily, some other people were walking there and showed us the way. After a 4.5 hour walk we finally arrived at the “Thiersee”, which was lovely. It was a great day, but we decided to go back by bus since we did not want to walk again for 4 hours.

In the weekend of October 13th we went again for a hike up the mountain, the Naunspitze and the Pyramidespitze. This time we were in total with 5 Dutch girls. The Naunspitze is at 1633 meters, and the Pyramidenspitze at 1997 meters. We left at 8 AM and after 20 minutes we arrived at the starting point. The start was located in a nearby town, “Ebbs”, and began with many stairs. After 4 hours of walking we went to a small restaurant and have some lunch. It was very warm and a tough climb. The last part towards the Naunspitze was very difficult, but even as inexperienced mountain climbers we made it! The view from there was magnificent and worth the climb. After enjoying this great view we decided to continue to the Pyramidenspitze which was 1.5 hours away. After discussing our plan with various other walkers, we decided to change our plan and go the Petersköpfl, which was only 30 minutes further. Meanwhile, it was already 3 PM, so the Pyramidenspitze was too far away to get home before it would get dark. The climb to the Petersköpfl was not as tough, and it was only at 1745 meters. From here we also enjoyed a great view. After this we walked down and came home at 7 PM. It was a tough day, with amazing views.

Furthermore, I had some new courses this week. One of these is Consumer Behavior, which I will finish already next week. In addition, I had Cross Cultural Management and Finance & Control. So far, all the courses are interesting with a different view than the Hanze. I am already used to the longer classes, and it is great to put everything immediately into practice. Also, my parents will come over to Kufstein to visit me next week.
