On Saturday 20th of October, my parents arrived in Kufstein for a few days. Saturday afternoon we went up with the Kaiserlift towards the “Kaisergebirge”, and we enjoyed a great view with nice weather. On Sunday we drove to the Hechtsee, where we made a walk around the lake and had a drink. On Monday and Tuesday my days were filled with classes, and on Wednesday we went to Salzburg. Unfortunately, it was bad weather, cold and a lot of rain, but regardless of the rain we visited many things. We went to the fortress of Salzburg, Schloss Mirabell and some other highlights.

On Thursday we went to Söll, where a large ski area is located, “Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental”. Here, I bought my Tirol Snow Card, with this card I can ski from October until May in every ski area in Tirol. In addition, we also bought ski boots, so I don’t have to rent them every time. I am definitely ready for winter now! Thursday afternoon my parents left again to the Netherlands, and I will see them around Christmas again.
On Friday I cycled with Daisy to Germany. The host family where she is staying had two bikes we could lend. This Friday was a public holiday, so everyone was free since Thursday. It was great to explore the surrounding areas by bike, in this way you see other things. The German border is only 2 kilometers ways from Kufstein, so in 10 minutes we were in a different country. We cycled through multiple places, such as Oberaudorf and Erl. In addition, we passed by a toboggan run, and we wanted to do this, but it was closed.

The week after I had few courses, since Thursday November 1 is a public holiday, the All Saints Day, and everyone was also free on Friday. So we had a long weekend off. Since we had the whole weekend off, Lauren and I decided to go skiing in Hintertux. Hintertux is a glacier, which is opened almost the whole year. It is about 1.5 hours from Kufstein. It was great to go skiing, and I hope the snow will come soon in Kufstein so all the ski areas here can open, this is planned for December 8th.
